It covers aspects of achieving adequate silver beech regeneration following logging of a mature stand, by using various techniques. This report also investigates the manipulation of the resultant young stands up to pole stage (approx. 80 years) by thinning and pruning to achieve high grade sawlogs in the shortest possible rotation.
