- There are two parts to this report:Part A: Helicopter production thinning in pole stands to determine whether low impact aerial logging techniques can be used for production thinning of mature pole beech stands without subsequent stand decline (damaged trees prone to pinhole bettles). Contains trial methodology with inventory, thinning selection, felling and extraction.Part B: Small coupe - aerial logging production trial. Investigation into use of low impact aerial harvesting techniques on small coupe felling in beech forest forest (approx. 70 years old). The Operational Area is virgin crop type 2A, Beech Working Circle 2. Contains methodology including establishment, felling and log preparation, extraction and stacking, fleeting and loading.
