Has a map of the location of this regeneration survey.Folder 2 and 4: Notes on beech management and research (regeneration and silvicultural techniques) with a map of the beech forests in Eastern and Western Southland. There are notes on beech silviculture in Longwood (sample plot s.108) and Woodlaw Forests (sample plot s.52).Folder 3: Sample Plot s.398 (Catlins Forest) brief details of the proposed plan for scarifying control there including method and assessment techniques.There are some loose notes at the back of this file with a report on 'Some Observations on the Management of Silver Beech' by Valentine, J. M. covering the current practices and silvicutural systems and the different regeneration processes of beech with the associated management.
