Reports in folder marked 'Glenbervie': T Cooper (KMU) 5.3.1976 'Artificial establishment of kauri with varying ground treatments and fertiliser' (3 sub-plots). Reports 26.4.76 and 3.10.73 (R Lloyd) with location plans. Reports by Cooper, 8.9.77, 27.8.79, and 7.10.85 summarised growth and additional fertiliser. Trial established 1974, cones on some trees in 1983 (12 years from seed germination). Reduced to 200 trees per block (A and B). Mean heights 232 cm and 261 cm after 9 years. Considered one of the better kauri plantation sites.

General Note
Useful for data on earlier plantings by KMU, if incorporated into a general account. Recommend visit to measure small samples from 2005 - 31 years after establishment - refer to data form on A597/1 (created 15.3.2005). Site is a 2 ha kauri plantation by the entrance to exotic forest. Kauri and totara were planted by Forest HQ in 1949. File may have been brought from Kaikohe by G Pardy on closure of KMU.
