- Report with graphs and appendices: good summary of planted kauri growth for first 6-8 years in 9 forests. Sites described. Height growth slow for first 5 years or so at 7-13 cm/year, then faster. Growth better on open sites than with forest cover. Drought had strong impact in 1982. Well-drained sites gave best growth (cf vigorous growth on pumice soils in Lynmore suburban gardens at Rotorua from 1950s, AEB).
