- Two folders with loose items enclosed, consisting of growth data, graphs, an analysis of kauri height growth by Lloyd in a 1972 report, also a brief note by J Levy (1956) on the soils and vegetation of the planting site. Seedlings were raised from Waipoua seed in Waitangi nursery in 1936 and up to 50 acres were planted in 1937 with much subsequent failure and blanking. Lloyd reported (1972) on growth of a sample of 36 trees growing in a remnant plantation of about 1.5 acres. Lloyd refers to papers published between 1930 and 1950 on growth of natural and planted kauri in Waipoua and gives a good summary of kauri growth characteristics, emphasising usual slow growth of 15' in height, especially in dense stands, and then a substantial annual increase in height. Small seedlings may exhibit no height growth for 1 or 2 years.

- Waitangi Endowment Forest contains the earliest known kauri planting made by the Forest Service (63 years old in 2005) and is close to notable historic sites. The full history of the plantation with measurement and appraisal to the present time could be published.
