- Notes on beech flowering, seeding and germination in Southland and Westland. Seedbed sonditions for newly germinated beech seedlings. Trials that have been carried out on artificial establishment and conditions required including planting, foliage removal, fertiliser and releasing trials. Early tending of regeneration and the issue of pinhole borer and thinning of regeneration is discussed as well as growth rates monitored.
