- Contains a copy of an article, 'The rimu' by D. A. Franklin, that appears to have come from a journal (no journal title recorded). It discusses the history and distribution, communities, reproduction, succession and damage of rimu in New Zealand.There are also notes on 'Raising of indigenous tree species' including notes on artificial establishment of rimu and the related techniques for collecting and handling seed, cleaning seeds, pre-sowing treatment of seed, sowing, lining-out, weedicides, conditioning, collecting and lining out of wildings and recommended planting techniques. These particular notes have been found also in two other files in the Dunedin Archives (CATM, 18286, D68, 165l, 28/10/2A and CATM, D67, 43d, 28/19/1) and Auckland Archives (BBQI, 7496, 23c, 27/2/1/1, 1).
