- Full documentation appears to be presented in 2 main folders, with history of plantation from establishment on a drained swamp site with giant fescue cover in 1931 near a kahikatea scenic reserve. Releasing done for several years after planting with 3-year-old nursery seedlings raised from local seed. Early problems with grass competition, deer and possum browsing (damage to bark and shoot tips). Growth measured at frequent intervals until 1947 and then by G Pardy in 1985 (see project record 855). Pardy prepared a work plan for thinning of plot and attachment of dendrometer bands (apparently not done).
