- Copy of Lloyd's draft report on "A growth study of regenerated kauri and podocarps" - basis for article later published in NZ J Forestry. Second entry is entitled "An analysis of height increment of planted kauri in Waitangi Endowment Forest" (Lloyd, post 1956). Notes characteristics of kauri growth - photos at Waipoua show extreme cases of same height for kauri seedlings over 30 years. Marked increase in annual height of natural trees 15-50 ft tall in sandy soil texture and good drainage gives better growth than on heavy clay soils with poor drainage. 36 trees planted as 1 year stock in 1957 were measured annually for 5 years 1952-1956(?). Average height increment by years ranged from 7-10ft for trees averaging 8 feet in height.
