- Contains reports that were presened at the Third Annual Conference of Officiers on Kauri Investigation (Auckland, May 1954).1. Report on a review of kauri investigations in Waipoua and Omahuta Forests in 1953 to 1954 (Control Plans A1 to A10) (Lloyd) focusing on the artificial establishment of kauri which includes major indications for survival figures of seedlings. Full method and results are given with discussion of the nursery and field trials.2. Brief report on 'Some Basidiomycetes Associated with Agathis Australis' (M E Lancaster) concerned with the fungi Armillaria mellea, Coltricia schweinitzii and Fomitopsis annosa occuring in kauri forests. These are three of most importance to kauri but other a number of other basidiomycetes are also briefly mentioned in this report.A report (not part of conference) on 'Height Growth of Young Kauri at Omahuta (compt 8 and 9)' (by Ass. Forester Morrison) investigates height growth with measurements taken annually in 1947 to 1950 on 100 marked kauri seedlings planted as four year old nursery stock under tall manuka. Contains method, results and discussion for this trial.

- There is also a report on 'Diameter growth of mature kauri' concerned with the measurement of twenty-five mature kauri detailing diameter on age, diameter increment and bark thickness are given which are supported by tables and graphs (J F Lysaght, 1951).
