- Location plan. Details of site preparation, planting, types of nursery stock (mainly 3/0), early releasing by hand or chemicals. Site on grassland considered good for kauri: soil scoriaceous and loose - Papakauri Silt Loan or Marua Clay Loam. 3 blocks totalling 17 acres (19 acres already planted). First establishment report by T Cooper (3p) 1974. Further details in reports by Cooper in 1977 and also 13.11.85 - last report. Use of Magamp. Photos of 1955 planting at spacing 3.6 x 3.6m. Height and survival data. Copy of internal report No.93 (G Oliver, Sept 1980) "Nutrient levels in kauri foliage". Data from several Northland forests, including Glenbervie, noting that kauri of good growth have higher concentrations of N, K and Ca than 'poor' trees. Suggests that kauri growth on 3 sites may be limited by nutrient supply..

- Memo by AE Beveridge dated 4.8.82 in FS 28/5/1 asking soil scientist for prescription on use of fertiliser for establishment of kauri: too many variables for conclusion in this trial. Discussed by Madgwick, Knight, Oliver, Dyck and concluded that new trials should be designed and analysed.Most earlier trials with fertiliser application to planted kauri have not produced significant results from management perspective. For current kauri planting prescriptions refer to D Bergin. More fertile sites now used.
