1984 reports, Plots established 1982 and details of 1931-1978 plantings.A range of reports, reviews and summaries on planting kauri in different forests and sites/soils with results. First substantial entry is "Review of artificial establishment of kauri planting" (no author or date) on file 31/1/1 (probably Trevor Cooper 1984). Indexed for wildings, nursery stock, site, results, survival. Summary history of kauri planting 20pp (text, tables), most planting on poor soils with best growth on sandy or alluvial soils with good drainage. Nurse vegetation also gives competition. Extent of planting in different forests. Annual height increment generally 15-30 cm, more on open site, Glenbervie. Review of SPA 906 by Cooper (8.2.84) (see also TTT12, 30). File noted dated 11.10.84 in KMU 28/2/0 by Cooper, poor response by fertiliser applied in field except for one review. Cooper file note (8.6.84) has discussion of group v line planting. Diary notes (Pardy and Bergin) on kauri planting in Northland. Project report No.50B (May 1984).
