- Locality plan. Earliest folder has timber cruise volumes and forest description. High population of browsing animals - deer, possums, depleting palatible understorey and ground vegetation. Management proposals (16.1.59); block layout. Next folder is office copy with register sheet and contains several reports. A control plan (SP 316.1-4) on establishing animal exclosure plots to assess browsing damage to planted patches of rimu and kahikatea and other vegetation. Natural regeneration assessed in transects from 1961. Longterm study in forest structure by Point Height Intercept method (control plan by John Inner 1981. Workplan for analysis of data from exclosure trials, 1984. Project Record 557 on Impact of selective logging, Pardy 1984.Field data for regeneration sampling following partial logging. Folder 4 - sampling data 1972. Folders 5,6 - assessment of tree mortality, 1974, with loose sheets of master copy of report by G Pardy (text 14pp, appendices and manuscript copy).Some material has been removed from folder (1/3 volume?)

- Tree mortality and regenertion asessments to continue with assessment of animal impact on vegetation. Selection management trial, 60 acres, data should be assessed to give picture of forest dynamics and effect of browsing in removing vegetation and probably reducing tree regeneration in forests of Whirinaki and Urewera.
