- Material also includes 100pp copies from Auckland Forest Conservancy records at National Archives Auckland. One of three themes in these notes is the longterm dieback and death of large totara from the 1950s but the recovery of some trees through the production of epicormic shoots from stems. The role of the possum is discussed. Notes were drafted in 2004 and sent to DOC Bay of Plenty Conservancy, Rotorua with photos taken by John Barran. Other themes are the regeneration on 2000 ha of partially logged podocarps and podocarp/tawa forests and possible restoration planting in cleared forest of the Mangawiri Basin.
