- Summary of annual height increments for each of 8 years after planting in different forests. Objective of 1982 series of plots was to give survival and increment on sites of different fertility, soils and overstoreys. Some kauri damaged by drought. Best sites have well-drained soils. Growth rates of open planted seedlings better than beneath forest cover. Different forests rated according to soil, access.
