General Note
Management plan by Richards on beech forests in 1998 was widely applauded, even by some environmentalists (e.g. Guy Salmon). Comments by Beveridge were sent to NZ Institute of Forestry in 1998. No timber production permitted. Weed reduction in podocarp forests on terraces and hills also ceased - political decisions.
