- Regeneration of hard beech in cutover. Investigation of regeneration by lessening competition and providing increased light. This area of study was used for comparison of estimates, growth rates and mortality of hard beech seedlings which had been treated by duff removal. Full data records are contained for this study including 58 measurements with remeasurements for each plot, number of seedlings, seedling height and mortality rate.There are also preliminary notes on red and hard beech seedlings in North Westland with the silvicultural implications including seed years, seedfall and advance growth.Contains notes and data records of the 1960 beech seedfall and seed tray experiments with method and results included.
