- Location plan shows trial location by Kakaho/Link roads.32p report on folder on selective logging in low density podocarp forest. Table 16, p16 of report, gives data on growth and survival of 5 podocarp species after 4 years, following planting on heavily-disturbed logged ground. Survival of all species is over 90%. Max annual increment for height is greatest for large nursery stock of tanekaha (21cm) and lowest for matai at 6.5cm. Undisturbed area of the forest has abundant natural regeneration of podocarps from seedlings to poles, thus returning to dense podocarp forest.File contains copy of PR 687 (Pardy), and inspection notes to DOC, Te Kuiti (Beveridge 2004).

- Forest under DOC management since 1987.Not fully considered here, but podocarp plantings near roadside, in two selectively logged forests and beneath eucalypts are of interest with no full assessment over past 20 years.This area was planted from 1976 onwards, by road margin and in 2 selectively logged trials (high density and low density podocarps). Was visited briefly by A E Beveridge in January 2004. Many podocarps planted near roads with a eucalypt nurse were destroyed by felling of eucalypts in 2004.
