- Location plan.4 plots each of 0.2 - 2 ha with abundent tanekaha regeneration beneath kanuka, some kauri, rimu, totara, tawa, rewarewa. One control plot and others thinned by ring barking manuka or felling to spacings of 4m or 6m. Folder has data on stocking and diameter growth. Final report (1986?) by D McKenzie (2p summary). No trees tagged. No obvious differences in diameter growth between control and thinned plots. Up to 1973, tanekaha diameter increment was about 0.2 cm/year.Separate folder contains summary of growth for 7 species and stocking, 1961-1982, but no analysis.

- General Note
- This was the only tanekaha plot known to George Pardy, who recommended keeping the control plot only. Needs a GPS location. Was classed as Category B plot (potentially useful) in 1992 review. There have been few trials on growth of tanekaha except MSc thesis by E Pook. Better growth occurred in central North Island but profuse regeneration in fire-induced stands in Northland.
