Tawa growth in Pureora was studied by Carol West from 1987, resulting in a Ph.D thesis, Auckland University. Several published papers on tawa growth by M C Smale.
General Note
Tawa growth was also studied in selectively logged dense podocarp forest at Whirinaki (G Steward holds electronic data), and in podocarp/tawa forest in 1961 selective logging trials at Pureora (remeasured by M C Smale, Landcare Research in 2004.
