- Content
- Details of tree measurements and volumes: soil analysis: foliage analysis: plot vegetation analysis. From 13 unfertilized plots in a 220 plot trial. General vegetation survey over all plots also. Kauri were planted in 1973 - 75 in 6 x 6 metre plots with kauri spaced at 1 metre. Initial analysis reveals that soil nutrient levels cannot account for the vastly different growth rates on good soils as opposed to poor. Indications are that soil moisture levels and soil hardness may be the major factors.
