Content
This was apparently a Waipoua station file brought to FRI on closure of the Kauri management unit about 1986. Contains mainly Morrison's account of past kauri research at Waipoua and proposals for further work, also notes by various Auckland Conservancy members to the kauri conferences held in 1956 and 1957. Good reporting of results of kauri research throughout Northland. Contains research items of value for genetic research - attempts at cross and self-pollination, air-layering, crossing of NZ kauri with Queensland kauri.

General Note
Full sets of papers and minutes of kauri conferences have not been found at Scion, but are probably held in Landcare Research, Hamilton, (M Smale), together with main kauri correspondence file FRI 28/5; they will have very useful items on kauri research, management and policy. Conferences were held annually from 1952 to ?1970.Morrison's experience in Queensland techniques is valuable. File is of high value for covering Morrison's work at Waipoua in 1950s, fuller aspects probably to be found in later kauri files.
