Much of the material in the Mcgregor files is not relevant to forestry covering, for example, time that he spent in New Guinea on zoological work. However several boxes contain data on Waipoua Forest, particularly relating to his early research there in the 1920's and the Waipoua controversy of the 1940's. There is not a great deal of useful scientific data
